News: At Last some Free time

Well! News update..Candice has had her baby! She had a baby boy his name is 'Cooper Troy Austin' She gave birth on the 21st of Sept 2011 at 5:05 PM his weight 7lb 4ozs .

Awesome name for an awesome baby He is so dammed cute!! We have all fallen head over heals in in love with him. .

They are both home and have hit the streets already lol shopping twice in all of his 9 days of life thus far haha ..

Tomorrow we take him to see his Great Nanna she will be very happy to meet him at last..:)

Then next week back to work with our music Thanks for being patient..:)

We will be doing an interview on the 5th Oct ...Radio station 97.7 The Pulse in Geelong with John Wilson at 8:15 AM

We have sent him some CD's for give aways so listen in and you might win one..:)

News: Top 30 charts

Ok now for our music news..But beware there isnt all that much due to us being so busy with Candice having her baby.. Daily trips to the hospital for all of us every day...

We have been in the Country Music Channels top 30 Charts for 4 weeks and hit number 25..We were ecstatic about that but hope for an even better result for our next single due for release in November..We have a few gigs coming up which we are preparing for, check out our gig guide for info on that..:)

News: Candice is Almost ready to have her baby!!!

The house concerts have been very sucessful we've had an awesome time doing them..But just letting you know we wont be doing any more now until After Candice has her baby..We're starting again in November.

It wont be long now! Candice only has just under 3 weeks until her baby is born ..! But! she might have it early so the count down begins!! We thought we might have a competition to see if you can guess the sex of the baby!! Head on over to our FaceBook page for more details ..:)

If you would like to book a house concert for after September feel free to do so. We are still taking bookings. Hi Guys...Wow !! time for an update

We're Excited!!!

We have been really busy promoting our latest single 'Not No But Hell No' After a couple of weeks of the release it jumped up to the top 50 charts list. Then after what seemed like an eternity but was only about four weeks and we were headed to the top 30 Countdown on the Country Music Channel..

News: Filming Our New Video Shoot day 1

Day One, Saturday April 23, 2011. Video Shoot of 'Not No But Hell No'

The day started at 6am in Morphett Vale, at the house of a good friend of Candice and Nadinne’s, The group consisted of our actors, Lane, Adrian and Tiarna (a lifesaver who had stepped in at the last minute, having seen the facebook call after our initial actress pulled out late the previous night), our director Gabor Kuckusha, our makeup and hair artist Karen, the mother/manager of the twins Gayle, home owner Lisa and myself. Once everyone had arrived we quickly ushered the twins and Tiarna upstairs into makeup while we got downstairs ready for the shoot. This basically entailed completely trashing Lisa’s house, which she had just cleaned.

After setting up some fake daylight and turning Lane from a respectful looking guy into a total slob we got into filming. As the video was going to be following the lyrics of the song fairly closely we filmed several takes with Lane and Tiana fighting over the mess in the house and Tiarna trying to convince him to get a job before throwing him out. One of the best parts of filming this part was hearing the two actors fight, as they had never met and got on really well with each other in reality. It was also amusing that after every take Lane would spit out the bread we were making him eat because he hated bread. This probably wasn’t too amusing for Lisa though as we used up her entire loaf! Then we headed outside to do some rehearsal for the closing sequence.

Shortly after this we re-dressed Tiana and Lane and with Adrian moved to our next location, The Hotel. We quickly shot a few takes of Tiarna and Adrian meeting at the bar, while Gayle, Lisa, Lane and I did some very convincing work as extras in the background. The staff at the Hotel were very accommodating and even gave us fake cocktails to perfect the setting.

We then headed back to the house, where Karen was working on finishing up the twins. After getting Lane and Tiana back into their scene one clothing we brought Nadinne downstairs and got her to do some performance takes with Lane and Tiana continuing their fighting in the background. It was not really fighting however, as while they were yelling and gesticulating, they were actually counting each other in and complimenting each other. In one take Lane even proposed marriage.

We then moved outside and took some more performance shots of Nadinne, re-enacting scenes shot earlier where Tiarna kicks Lane out of the house behind her.

Then we moved on to the second verse, at which point Candice and Adrian were required. Gabor first filmed upstairs in the bathroom, the scene with Tiarna discovering Adrian posing in front of the mirror. Everyone else waited downstairs while this section was being filmed and I can’t wait to see how it turned out. After a few takes upstairs they moved to the stairs and filmed Tiarna now throwing Adrian out. Numerous times. In just a towel. With children across the road. However, before we could do this do we required a rolling pin for Tiarna to threaten Adrian with, which lead to a door knock of the entire cul de sac before Lisa remembered she actually owned one the whole time. We were then able to resume filming.

Then Candice was up, with Gabor shooting her singing with Adrian being kicked out in the background behind her. Repeatedly. It was a wonder that Lisa’s door didn’t fall off, with how many times it got slammed that day!

Lisa’s home is two storey, so we were able to get a wonderful shot of the girls performing one above the other, with Nadinne upstairs and Candice downstairs. For Gabor to be the right height to get the right angle we had to find ways of elevating him. After unsuccessfully stacking up a bunch of Lisa’s living room furniture in the middle of her street, Gayle had the instantaneous idea of backing out the ute and Karen jumped into it and backed it out! and Gabor stood in the back. This proved to be a wonderful solution, which lead to many giggles.

After this we filmed a couple of takes of the girls playing and singing as they walked down the street before taking a break.

After a break and the return of Lane it was time to film the end sequence. This took quite a few takes as we really wanted to get it right. We eventually got what we wanted and sent the actors home, with our massive thanks for a great day’s work.

It was time for the twin’s costume change. What I like to call their ‘rock star’ outfits. Then it was time to head back out to the street to film a bunch of performance shots from different angles, where the girls absolutely killed it. This took a lot of adjusting of lights (including trying to use the ute as backlighting), one time when we had finally gotten them right we had to pick them up and run out of the way as a car turned into the street.

We wrapped it up sometime after 10pm after about a 16 or 17 hour day. I think we all felt great though, it had been a successful day and we were all really happy with our work.

News: Thursday in Tamworth

Having Fun at Tamworth Country Music Festival

Today started off with a show at the Tamworth City Bowling Club – it was our last one there for the festival It felt kinda sad as we really enjoyed playing there:)

The crowd was great though and there were quite a few more faces than in the previous couple of shows so that was fantastic. We got an awesome response from them once the whole show was over – It was really nice chatting to the different people and finding out where they were from.

During the show, the host, Sam Smyth asked Candice up to draw the raffle …. and the person who won was from Adelaide! How about that! and then she drew the second ticket and the person who won that, was someone she knew! Funny stuff!

After the show we headed back to the house to drop off the gear, and then went on the hunt for food.

Geez it was packed in the main street! We went to several different food courts and couldn’t find a table anywhere! Managed to eventually find one though, and had some well deserved lunch

Once we were through with that, we went for a wonder and came across Adam Harvey busking! He was raising money for charity! Fantastic Adam! … We watched a couple of songs but there was a huge crowd around him, and we were stuck standing out in the sun… which was not pleasant! But the few songs we heard were great!

Later this afternoon a huge storm hit Tamworth! It was insane!! It came in so quickly and pelted down with rain and hail and there was thunder and lighting … it lasted for about half an hour – Bobby – one of the band members chose just before it hit, to make a quick trip to the shops for supplies …. and got stuck there, as the front entrance started to flood! Apparently there were 5 -6 staff members trying to sweep the water out, but weren’t doing it right according to Bob. lol

From the 10 or so steps from the driveway to the house Bob got soaked!

After the storm passed you would have never guessed it had been through at all… crazy insane weather!

Our show tonight was at 11:30 pm .. our last one for the Country Flavour Stage – again the crowd was great and we even had some people dancing! Woo!

Our time at the festival has almost come to an end..sad in a way, but we will be happy to get home the time has flown since we’ve got here!..:)

Sounding Good Candice!!

So today has been like most of our days here in Tamworth, we got up and went out and about- checking out local buskers down the main street.

We took Brody, our drummer to the Big Golden Guitar as he hadn’t seen it before- he got a couple of pictures with his new cow-boy hat

We ended up at the West Leagues Club for lunch and listened to some music while there.

Tonight we had the pleasure of being able to play in the SA Showcase at the Coca-Cola stage in the Hands of Fame park- sooooo much talent in South Australia!! There were some time restraints so our set was cut in half which was a pity but we still had a great time showing off what SA girls can do .

Having a great time here but let me tell you, we’ll be glad to get home again No place like home!

Hmmmm? But then again.. Do we really want to do packing instead of gigging in Tamworth!!???

News: Monday in Tamworth

Today we finally got a sleep in! woo woo !

Not too much to report today – we once again ventured to the main street. It was HOT today! The humidity was terrible BUT we soldiered on … Brody, the drummer, was determined to get himself a cowboy hat! We walked up and down and all over the place before finally settling on the one he purchased – and it looks great! Bobby, our bass / guitar player was on a mission for one too but his head is too small lol – no one had any in his size! So we shall continue the search for him!

Tonights gig wasn’t until 11pm so it was a late start – there were still a lot of people about though which was great! The show went smoothly – even though Candice ate 3 bugs during it … o_O .. not pleasant but funny Hmmm should I be saying that? lol especially when I had a bug fly up my nose!! lol! But! The show must go on!

Now the boys have headed out to the pub and then to get pizza while we are heading to bed :p We know, we know… boring! BUT! We’re sure the ladies out there reading this will understand the term beauty sleep!

News: Tuesday in Tamworth

Today started for us with a gig at the Hands of Fame park on the Coca Cola stage at lunchtime. It went great and we had a really fantastic response from it! With people asking for our autograph! How exciting!

It would have to be the hottest day we’ve had yet! it was terribly humid up on stage – but we managed to get through it

After the show we did something different – and went to the main street lol. We got some lunch and before we knew it, it was time to head over for our second radio interview with Festival FM! We originally had planed to do one song live on air but the announcer liked it so much he got us to do another one! Awesome! The station was set up promotionally in the middle of a shopping centre so by the time we had finished, quite a little crowd had gathered around the booth it made us feel very special indeed!

At 8:30pm we were at the cricket ground again for the Country Flavour Stage – the audience is always great there and really get into our performance … well… we think they do! the flood lights that are set up pointing at the stage are blinding so we tell them they have to make a lot of noise so we know they’re still there! They did and it was great!

While we were there we met one of our friends / fans from facebook! Al and Carol Slade. It was really great to meet and have a chat with them both! Finally!

We were also asked to do a little promo recording for another radio station – 2YYY – which was pretty cool. He told us that he plays our CD regularly! Woo!Woo!

We’re having a fantastic time so far and don’t want it to end! In the next couple of days we have the SA showcase, the Tamworth City Bowling Club, the Country Flavour stage and then Coca Cola stage at the Hands of Fame Park! Whew! busy busy busy!

News: Sunday in Tamworth

So Sunday started off with a radio interview with Lorraine Pfitzner at Radio 2YOU FM at 8:30am. Wow! Such an early start!! ( yeah I know! suck it up! lol I know the day is half gone for some of you country folks by 8:30 eh!) The interview went great and Lorraine was kind enough to play 3 songs from our album! Breaking it Down, Also Known as Love and Sure Feels Like Love (Which she mentioned was her favourite). We discovered that Lorraine was a fellow SAian which was great!

When we returned to the house Bob, our guitarist was ready to go exploring! So we headed over to the Giant Golden Guitar and proceeded to be very touristy and took photos infront of it!

After that we hit the main street again for a wander where we saw some great busking again!

It also saw the arrival of Brody- our drummer! Woo! full band together again! After some searching on the internet we couldn’t find if one of the stages we were due to play at, provided drums or not … so Rohan called them and surprise! We were scheduled to start playing there Sunday night! not Monday night!! Oops! Which turned out to be great timing as a friend of Nadinnes came from Sydney and had initially been bummed that he wouldn’t see any of our shows. So after a scramble to get ready we headed over to the cricket ground, where I think one of the organisers nearly had a heart attack when he saw the amount of gear we had with us! lol We like to be prepared .

It all worked out great in the end though – the gentleman who was on before us we missed his name, was very good, but played at lot of slow, sweet songs … So! we thought that we’d get up there and rock the audience up a bit and wake them up! hehe! And that we did! It was a great gig and we were offered to play again for an hour instead of 30 mins Monday night at 11pm to close the night off! We’re so excited to be able to play for that long as most gigs here in Tamworth are only 20..30 min sets at the most.

After the gig we dropped the gear back off at the house and hit the town As it was pretty late by then and a Sunday night to boot there wasn’t a lot happening

And thats about it! – We got home at around midnight. Unwound and talked about the days events then headed off to bed to get some well deserved shut eye

News: Saturday in Tamworth

Today started much like yesterday, we got up and got ready to head over to the Tamworth Bowling club- we weren’t supposed to play until 10:50am but it’s just as well we got there earlier because Sam asked if we could change our time slot! We ended up with a later slot of 11:20am which was okay by us, gave us some time to sit back and enjoy the other acts on

We think todays set went much more smoothly than yesterdays- we put it down to first tamworth gig jitters! hehe. We played the three songs- started with When Will I Be Loved, went into My Truck and finished with Cry Like A Baby- we had to make sure we did the song justice because when we asked if there was any Kasey Chambers fans in the audience, nearly everyone raised their hands!! Eepp! We think we did okay though, judging by the nodds and smiles from people, especially when we went into the last chorus accapella

After the show finished, we went out to the Merch table and to our delight, a new fan bought both Just Another Day and Breaking It Down we signed both albums while chatting to the lovely couple, Aaron and Renee, we learnt that they lived in Tamworth- they are so lucky !

We soon got a call from Bob, one of our guitarists to let us know he had arrived at the house! We had to get a move on back to the house to let him in! We got there in record time and found Bob already unloading his car- he had a lot of stuff! He had been kind enough to cart up some of our equipment that wouldn’t fit into Candice’s smaller car hehe.

We sat and decided on the songs we would sing that afternoon at the coca-cola stage in the Hands of Fame park and decided on.. Into You, When Will I be Loved, Just Another Day and finished with Cry Like A Baby. People were coming up saying how much they loved our take on that song! Which is really cool and such a compliment as we are huge fans of Kasey Chambers and it does us proud to have an interpretation of one of her songs that people love:)

People were tapping their toes, and were enjoying the show.

Afterwards, we were informed that a couple of people wanted a picture with us and they told us they were from Adelaide as well- and small world or what- they live in the same suburb as we do!

That put an end to our gigs for the day, we ended up having dinner at the Calala Inn and then headed down Peel street and ended up in one of the many pubs to enjoy a drink and some awesome live music.

News: Friday in Tamworth

So! today started off with our gig at the Tamworth City Bowling Club … we got there and discovered that we only had a certain amount of time so the 7 songs we had prepared were way too many! so we had to cull some and got it down to four

We stuck around for the rest of the gig – until about 12pm. They had other musical acts and bush poets – they were really good! One guy even did a poem about traffic cops which Rohan loved.

After that we headed back to the house to get changed and then hit the main street to see all the buskers! There were some really good ones there was this one kid who would have been about 7 or 8 … he had a mini guitar and everything! Very cute!

Nadinne and I must have looked pretty alike today as we were asked several times if we were sisters or twins lol.

Once we were main streeted out we came back to the house and jammed for a while … and then decided to head on down to Bicentennial Park for the Official festival opening concert. It was really good and something we definitely want to be apart of one day! We left just before it finished A: to beat the crowds and B: cuz there were bugs everywhere!! Nadinne was not impressed when one flew up her nose! lol

Ok bed time now! We have a long day tomorrow ..:) Its sooo hot up here hot as in ‘Humid’!

News: Arrived at Tamworth at Last!! yayyy!

We left Forbes early this morning very eager to get back on the road after a good nights sleep..Arrived at Tamworth at around 2:00PM .. We discovered that we forgot to get our hosts phone number.. Lucky for us she had called Nadinne a while back and Nadinne found her number in her phone :)

Yayy Nadinne to the rescue! lol

Our host was there in minuets When she arrived we were given a beautiful bunch of flowers and 2 restaurant vouchers for a 3 course meal at one of Tamworth’s restaurants..How sweet was that!

I think I know where we will be staying next year…So the location and owner will be a well kept secret hehe

Its a lovely 3 bedroom house and we don’t need anything except food! We have been spoilt ! We have the use of a barbi as well…

Thankyou to our host in Tamworth..:)

We did some shopping, cooked our dinner, and now for a nice relaxing evening and a good night’s sleep..

Then a new day to start the festival off ..And.. Our shows.. We’re very excited hope to see you there come and say G’day ..:)

News: On our way to to Tamworth!!! At Last!!

Well! We left Adelaide at 6:00 AM our trip so far has been uneventful..Except for a toot stop! OMG! The stench in there was horrible… but we all needed to go so we had to hold our breath and do our thing! lol So we all got back in the car …You wouldn’t believe it! Not 5 mins down the road was a servo with ‘clean’ toilets!! Just our luck! We went through some heavy rain over Hay. We will upload some pics soon.. We’re now at a motel in Forbes NSW will be leaving at about 8AM and should arrive in Tamworth by tomorrow afternoon…All going well. Well its been a long day up since 4 this morning so going to sleep now .. To all the flood victims in Qld, NSW, and Vic we are praying for you and send our love to all..We wish we could do more to help…Times like this so many of us feel so helpless ..:(
